The Short Answer

For a confirmed jetted bath, check the Pearl Suite at Inn on the Riverwalk or Jackson House room 3 at Noble Inns. Thompson, Valencia and the other large hotels here offer named suites with soaking tubs.

Searching for a Jacuzzi room near the River Walk brings up plenty of pools and shared hot tubs. That isn’t much help when you want a bath behind your own door.

We found two small-inn rooms that clearly list whirlpool or jetted tubs. The other six picks have checked soaking tubs, with no jets promised. Some are on the River Walk; others are nearby. Book the named room, since a standard room at the same hotel can have a very different bath. Jacuzzi is a brand name, so we use each hotel’s own tub description.

How We Chose Them

These are editorial picks based on official pages and the trip each place suits. We checked the details on September 20, 2026. This is a desk-researched guide, not a report from a visit.

  1. A clear reason to go. Each pick should offer something useful for this kind of trip.
  2. The details that change your plan. We checked the named room or site, then kept the limits close to the perks.

Rates and access can change. Use the linked official page to check your dates before you book.

Our 8 picks

  1. No. 1: Thompson San Antonio Riverwalk, by Hyatt

The Thompson Suite adds a freestanding bath and private terrace.

At Thompson, the room name does the work. Book the Thompson Suite with one king bed for the freestanding soaking tub shown on its page. The suite also has a bedroom of its own, a living area and a furnished terrace, so there’s room to make a whole evening of the stay.

This is a soaking tub, with no jets listed. Don’t assume a standard king room has the same bath. Ask the hotel to check the suite name on your booking, then compare the final price with parking included. A special room is much nicer when the bill has no surprises.

Before you go: Have the hotel check the full suite name before you pay.

  2. No. 2: Hotel Valencia Riverwalk

The Junior Suite has a soaking tub and a separate shower.

Guest room with a bed and balcony doors at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk
A guest room at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. For the soaking tub in this guide, book the Junior Suite. Hotel Valencia Riverwalk / Official website

Hotel Valencia’s Junior Suite is a useful place to start if you want a large bath without searching through every room photo. The 750-square-foot suite has a soaking tub and a separate walk-in shower. Its downtown River Walk location puts dinner plans close by.

The tub isn’t described as jetted. The Presidential Suite has a garden tub, but that doesn’t make it a whirlpool either. Choose the room for the soak and location, then ask about the exact layout. If jets are the reason for your trip, start with the two small-inn options below instead.

Before you go: Choose Junior Suite by name if the tub is a must.

  3. No. 3: Inn on the Riverwalk

The Pearl Suite pairs a queen bed with a whirlpool bath.

Queen bed and pale blue walls in the Pearl Suite at Inn on the Riverwalk. Inn on the Riverwalk / Official website

The Pearl Suite at Inn on the Riverwalk is one of the clearest matches for a private jetted bath. The inn lists a whirlpool tub in this room’s private bathroom. A queen bed keeps the room suited to a two-person stay.

It’s on the second floor, and the balcony is shared. Think of it as a small historic inn stay, with a different feel from a large hotel and its lobby services. Check stairs, check-in details and the full rate directly. Most of all, reserve Pearl rather than choosing a general room at the inn.

Before you go: Book Pearl by name and ask about the stairs if access is a concern.

The Contessa Suite has a soaking bath and separate shower.

Sofa and chairs in the Contessa Suite living room
Sofa and chairs in the Contessa Suite living room. Hotel Contessa / Official website

Hotel Contessa makes the search easier with a named top suite. The Contessa Suite has a king bed, living space and a large soaking tub. Its separate shower means you don’t have to climb into the tub for every rinse after a hot day downtown.

This is a high-end room choice, and the soaking tub isn’t listed with jets. Other suites at the hotel have different bath layouts. Check that the Contessa Suite is available for your dates before planning the trip around it. Then ask the hotel to put that exact room type on the booking, rather than a general request for a nice bath.

Before you go: A request note is not the same as a checked Contessa Suite.

    San AntonioPrice: Check dates

Hyatt Regency's Presidential Suite lists a large soaking tub.

River Walk boat beside Hyatt Regency San Antonio
River Walk boat beside Hyatt Regency San Antonio. Hyatt Regency / IcePortal via Travel Weekly

Hyatt Regency’s Presidential Suite gives you room to stretch out in a central River Walk hotel. The current room page lists a large soaking tub, a separate shower and a private atrium balcony. A living area makes it easier to spend part of the trip in the room.

The important word is Presidential. Other room types won’t necessarily have that bath. The listed tub is for soaking, with no jets promised. Check the current suite photos and ask about the bed plan if more than two people are coming. Extra living space doesn’t always mean enough beds for a group.

Before you go: Check the exact suite and sleeping setup for your group.

Jackson House room 3 has a marble bath with a whirlpool.

Jetted bathtub in Jackson House Room 3 at Noble Inns
Jetted bathtub in Jackson House Room 3 at Noble Inns. Noble Inns / Official website

Jackson House room 3 is the small-inn choice to check when you want jets. Noble Inns lists a two-person jetted tub in its marble bathroom. The room also has a queen bed and a fireplace, which gives it a more intimate feel than a large downtown suite.

Jackson House is in the King William area, away from the busiest restaurant loop. Plan your route to dinner before deciding whether you’ll walk or ride. Book the room number, since other Noble Inns rooms differ. Ask about access and check-in details too, especially if you expect the services of a full-size hotel.

Before you go: Use both the house name and room number when booking.

The St. Anthony offers a grander setting for a bath-focused break. The John Wayne Suite has a king bed, separate living and dining space, and a marble bathroom with a soaking tub. The hotel faces Travis Park, a short downtown outing from the River Walk.

The suite’s bath is for soaking; the hotel doesn’t promise jets in this listing. Other room types have different bathrooms, so use the suite page as your guide. Add parking and any extra hotel charges to the rate when comparing it with smaller inns. A lovely lobby alone won’t tell you whether the room fits your plan.

Before you go: Compare the total stay cost for the named suite.

Kimpton Santo’s Presidential Suite has a freestanding soaking tub in its main bathroom, plus a king bedroom and room to lounge. The hotel sits between downtown and Southtown, so you can plan dinner in either direction.

The Presidential Suite is not the only bath option to ask about. The official gallery also shows a Premium Spa tub, so ask the hotel whether that room fits your dates and budget. Neither listing is a promise of jets. Have the desk check the tub and room name in writing before choosing a nonrefundable rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which rooms have confirmed jets?

Inn on the Riverwalk lists a whirlpool in the Pearl Suite. Noble Inns lists a two-person jetted tub in Jackson House room 3. Confirm the exact room and that the tub is working before booking.

Is a soaking tub the same as a Jacuzzi?

No. A soaking tub can be deep and roomy without any jets. Jacuzzi is a brand, while whirlpool and jetted describe a feature. Ask the hotel to confirm exactly what the room has.

Will a standard room have the tub shown here?

Usually you need a specific room or suite. Put the full room name on the booking. A note requesting a tub does not guarantee that room type.
