Best of Texas started in 2019 as an argument about barbecue that got out of hand. Six years later it is a small newsroom that ranks things across all 254 counties, funded entirely by readers.
We are not a listicle farm. Every guide names its reporting method, cites its sources, and sets out criteria you can read and disagree with. Field visits are paid for by us; desk-researched guides say so plainly. Here is exactly how we work.
